- Medicare identified that some claims with CPT 90480 (Covid19 vaccine admin.) were being denied when billed along with G0008, G0009, or G0010 because of a Procedure-to-Procedure (P2P) edit introduced in the 2025 Q4 NCCI file. Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services
- On October 14, 2025, CMS issued a replacement NCCI file which removes the deny edit between 90480 and those G-codes.
- Medicare Administrative Contractors (MACs) will automatically reprocess affected claims with dates of service from July 1, 2025 through October 15, 2025 over about 30 business days. Providers do not need to take action.
- However, providers may instead appeal impacted claims or choose to re-submit claims after the edit removal, if they do not want to wait for the automatic adjustment.
